The Clandestine Laboratory Investigating Chemists Association (CLIC), a non-profit organization, was formed in 1989. The purpose of CLIC is to exchange ideas and information within the field of clandestine laboratory investigation and evidence examination. CLIC has members throughout the world, including the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Australia, and other international partners. CLIC members are advancing the state of the art in forensic investigations; many of its members participate in the Scientific Working Group for the Analysis of Seized Drugs (SWGDRUG), National Institute of Justice Technical Working Groups (NIJ TWG), and the Organization of Scientific Area Committees for Forensic Science (OSAC).

Each year CLIC hosts a workshop and Technical Training Seminar during the week of Labor Day. The workshop on Tuesday focuses on a specific theme. The Technical Training Seminar is comprised of lectures, presentations, discussions, reports, and posters; it commences on Wednesday and concludes on Saturday. The Bring Your Own Slides session on Thursday evening is comprised of brief non-specific presentations intended to be light and informal. You do not have to be a member of CLIC to attend the training conference. However, you do need to show you are supporting the clan lab investigation community (e.g. forensic scientist, forensic chemist, investigator, public safety, professor, etc.). Please email the current CLIC Seminar Chair ([email protected] ) if you are interested in attending. CLIC publishes a peer-reviewed journal for the clan lab investigation community. This journal is filled with current, relevant trends and research regarding clan labs and their products. This journal is only available to CLIC members; there is no general circulation.
